Process-water recovery modernisation
A compact RO/DI and reuse system improved water quality and reduced resource demand.

The customer required an upgrade of the existing process-water system to reduce fresh-water consumption, recover usable rinse water and improve overall water-management efficiency.
The main requirements included:
Reduction of fresh DI and process-water consumption
Recovery and reuse of suitable rinse water
Separation of different wastewater streams based on water quality
Stable water quality for reuse in selected process stages
Reduced wastewater discharge volume
Monitoring of conductivity, flow and tank level
Automatic control of recovery, transfer and discharge sequences
Integration with the existing production line and water-treatment system
Minimal disruption to ongoing production during the upgrade
ES-PRO reviewed the existing rinse arrangement, water consumption and wastewater flow before developing the modernisation plan.
The upgraded system included:
Collection of selected rinse-water streams for recovery
Recovery tanks and transfer-pump systems
Filtration and water-quality monitoring
Conductivity-based control for reuse or discharge
Reuse of recovered water in suitable upstream rinse stages
Automatic tank-level and overflow control
Flow monitoring for water-consumption management
PLC and HMI integration for system operation and status monitoring
Modification of existing piping and drainage routes
Connection to the customer’s existing DI water and wastewater-treatment systems
The modernised system reduced unnecessary fresh-water usage and improved the reuse of suitable process water within the production line.
The final solution was designed according to the customer’s actual rinse-water quality, process requirements, existing piping arrangement and available treatment capacity.
